3 Day Meeting On Afghanistan

In preparation for the third meeting of the ‘Foreign Ministers of Afghan Neighboring Countries,’ Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi travelled for China on Tuesday morning. Qureshi will be in attendance. During his three-day tour, the Foreign Minister will not only participate in the Ministerial conference of neighbouring nations, but he will also meet with colleagues from other participating countries.

According to him in a video message sent before departure, foreign ministers from every country in the region will be in attendance at the meetings. “We will go over the current state of peace in Afghanistan and discuss the country’s economic growth and connectivity initiatives,” said the group.

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi has invited the foreign minister to pay a visit to the country, and the minister will be there at his request. In addition to attending the Ministerial Conference of Neighboring Nations, the foreign minister will meet with colleagues from other countries taking part in the meeting.

Qureshi disclosed that he will attend a number of bilateral talks with his colleagues from countries such as China, Russia, and Iraq, among others, during his tour.
“This [the talks] is a crucial platform for consensus-building,” he added, adding that the trip will be “completely filled” as a result of the discussions.
If you remember, Pakistan had established the Neighboring Countries format in September 2021 with the goal of developing a regional response to the situation in Afghanistan at the time. On September 8, 2021, Pakistan will host the first meeting of Foreign Ministers of Neighboring Countries, which will be held in Islamabad.

Regional Support Of Pakistan

“Pakistan firmly supports a regional approach to Afghanistan in order to promote long-term peace and stability in the region,” the Foreign Office said in a statement.

In a statement, Pakistan said that it will “continue to assist the international community’s efforts to promote the common goals of a peaceful, stable, sovereign, prosperous, and connected Afghanistan.”

Pakistan’s foreign minister said in an announcement issued by the country’s Foreign Office that the country desired good relations with all countries, and that other countries desired good relations with Pakistan as well – as evidenced by the participation of several countries in a recent meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation’s foreign ministers, which was hosted by Islamabad.

According to the statement, Pakistan is fully supportive of a regional strategy to Afghanistan aimed at ensuring long-term peace and stability across the region.

According to the statement, “Pakistan will continue to assist the international community’s efforts to promote the common goals of a peaceful, stable, sovereign, prosperous, and linked Afghanistan.”

He is slated to return to the office on Thursday (March 31).


Developing a Regional Strategy

Recall that Pakistan established the Neighboring Countries format in September of last year with the goal of developing a regional strategy for dealing with the situation in Afghanistan. The first summit, which took place on September 8, 2021 in Pakistan, was the inaugural gathering.
