Statement Againts Reports of Rift
PML-Q According to President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain, there is no reason to believe that there is a rift within the Chaudhry family or within the party. He further said that all decisions were taken with his “complete agreement.”
He made the statement a day after the PML-Q finally backed Prime Minister Imran Khan, who is facing a no-confidence motion in the National Assembly. The PML-Q did so in exchange for Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf-PTI announcing Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi as its candidate for Punjab chief minister, after incumbent Usman Buzdar submitted his resignation to the prime minister. Imran Khan is facing a no-trust motion in the National
The PML-Q is a significant partner of the PTI government in Punjab and the Centre, with 10 and five seats, respectively, and the Chaudhrys’ support for Prime Minister Imran Khan is being hailed as a revival of Imran Khan’s hopes to restore order to his administration.
PML-Q Members Opinion
According to sources, the PML-Q camp was overjoyed to receive the rich offer from the government; but, certain members of the Chaudhry family were not pleased with their decision to join the PTI, and their debates on the topic continued until late into the night.
After his party’s MNA, Tariq Bashir Cheema, resigned as federal minister and said that he would vote in favour of the opposition’s no-trust resolution – in plain disobedience of his party; Geo News Channel claimed that there was a rift among the Chaudhrys yesterday. Cheema’s colleagues in the PML-Q, according to the television station, were expected to follow his lead.
Shujaat Hussain Statement
Individuals who attempt to gain political benefit by “falsely promoting divisions,” according to Shujaat, will be disappointed by the results of their efforts. According to him, rumours about “family disagreements” were being “pushed and perpetuated,” and he called these allegations “baseless.”
His statement was followed by the remark that “an view on a particular topic should not be depicted as a choice with the intention of using it for political objectives.” In his own words, “I do not believe in [giving] explanations, but I would want to emphasise that I am considered to be the head of the household.”
According to him, the current parliament has a bigger proportion of young people than the previous legislatures. “It would be incorrect to accuse them of anything.”
Allegations of bribery were “uncalled-for,” he said, adding that “intelligent people do not enjoy such terms.”
Shujaat said that his family had been distributed across Pakistan, not only in Punjab, over the previous 50 years and that he had given his consent to all family decisions made during that time.
Use of Money
The PML-Q leader said that the expression “use of money” should not be used since educated people despise debates about it, according to the PML-Q leader.
Hussain emphasised that spreading false information or altering facts are not acceptable practises. Those who “hope to achieve political advantage by discord” will be disappointed, according to the president.
“I’ve been told that my family has been divided, but this is not the case.” Throughout Punjab and the rest of Pakistan, our family has been actively engaged in politics for the last 50 years,” he said, adding that all decisions are taken with his approval.
Upcomming News of New Punjab CM
On Monday, it was declared that Punjab Assembly Speaker Pervaiz Elahi would be the new Chief Minister of the province. According to media reports, Imran Khan’s nomination of Elahi as his nominee for the job of provincial chief executive has been widely hailed as the long-awaited “trump card” by the prime minister.
